Wendy Norris 27th December 1966 – 14th September 2013
Wendy Norris loved horses and although she didn’t ride in her adult life she carried on the love of them via her daughter Hannah and New Forest ponies Dolly Daydream and Haywards Invincible (aka Vinnie). Wendy was always at the yard helping with the ponies, grooming, watching Hannah’s lessons or supporting her at local shows. On the evening Wendy was taken ill the Kent Air Ambulance Team attended my yard and their professional and calm approach meant we knew she was in the best hands.
Knowing that the Air Ambulance was reliant on charity funding after Wendy died, I felt that something to remember her and to help raise funds for them would be a lasting legacy and the Memorial Ride was born. I know she would have approved of this event and indeed would have been the first to volunteer her help, so thank you for signing up for it and we really hope you have a great ride and enjoy the chance to ride on some otherwise private farmland as well as the local bridleway network.
